PROPOSED PROJECTS CAN BE: VISUAL, PERFORMANCE, LITERARY, MUSICAL
There’s a deep continuous history between the communities of San Pedro and Northeast Los Angeles. The ancient Tongva tribes traveled seasonally between the natural harbor and the Arroyo Seco. Their trail became the Spanish wagon route, the early California stagecoach road, footprint of the railroad, the electric car, and now the 110 Freeway and Figueroa Street.
Ancient questions persist: Where am I? Where am I going? How will I get there?
To these we add:
How are our distinct communities the same yet different? How do artists interpret a sense of place, history, ancestors, futures, and dreams?
We seek projects that map outside the traditional cartographer’s purview, that are documents of alternate experience, thought provoking, eclectic, and idiosyncratic to
help us see where we are.
Submission process:
1. Email description of what you propose to do, and the amount of space required for it.
2. Include no more than 5 JEPGS at 300 dpi of any visual material to support your proposal
3. Include current narrative biography and CV
SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY NOVEMBER 15, 2015
