Hurricane Relief Musical Benefit
Saturday, October 29, 2005 – starts at 8:00 pm
The Arroyo Arts Collective, Avenue 50 Studio, Inc., Culture Vulture, the Mexican Cultural Institute, are jointly sponsoring a musical benefit for the victims of hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Stan. Our event will feature two up and coming local bands, Timbaloo and the Nightmares. Here’s how these two bands have been characterized:
"Timbaloo"- Chicano Cumbia with a side of Salsa. The rich rhythms of this dynamic group fronted by vocalist/songwriter Eddika Organista is sure to make even the wallflowers dance.
Members of Phatso, The Stellas, and Highland Parks’ own La Flota make up "The Nightmares", which is anything but. This eclectic, super charged configuration known for the sweet but strong vocals of Johanna Moore and Cindy Martin will make you hope you never wake up from this dream.
We invite you to dress a la Día de los Muertos, and dance in honor of your ancestors.
Music, slide show, refreshments, face painting, art

100% of Proceeds at the door will go to the Red Cross for Hurricane relief
