Works by Fernando Barragan

The paintings of Fernando Barragan are a true synthesis of his study of art history and his natural, self taught talent. A muralist in the truest sense, Barragan brings a life and vigor to his paintings that render the subjects as almost three dimensional. His use of color and space is on the level of masters such as Picasso, Siquieros and Leger, all artists Fernando has studied in books and has absorbed and reinterpreted in his own style. The paintings, large and small, all have a power of their own due to Barragan’s use of color and shape. The pieces selected for this first solo show exhibit the bravura of Barragan’s style.
