“Four distinguished authors (Teresa Mei Chuc, Alicia Viguer-Espert, Toti O’Brien and Lisbeth Colman) share their journeys from their respective homelands (Vietnam, Spain, Italy and Venezuela) to America. Dr. Thelma T. Reyna, PHD, moderates a round-robin discussion about the authors’ personal stories, visions, dreams and experiences as they left their original culture and started a new life in the US. Afterwards, the authors read excerpts from their books, either prose or poetry. Though they come from distinct backgrounds, their powerful, moving writing reminds us that we all embody similar values, hopes and goals for what it means to be part of a harmonious, inclusive, just, respectful society. A Q&A with the audience follows the reading.”
