Urban Passages
My inspiration comes from my close observations of the landscape that surrounds me. I am naturally attracted to color in nature, the contrast of light and shadows, space, form, sounds and the smells of the air through the different seasons of the year. I use color and texture as main elements to engage and construct my work. Sometimes I emphasize the use of palette knives to create thick impastos and texture on my paintings. My goal is to capture all those elements and transport them to my paintings to evoke mystery so that the viewer can reflect on the piece and re-imagine their own personal narrative in it. — Salvador Correa
