Statement: When I come across photographs that intrigue me, I always look at the eyes of the subject. I want to know what is the story behind the gaze and allow my use in medium to accentuate what I see: a strong woman. Throughout art history, women of all creed have been muses to great visionaries and when I decided to paint this “Mujer”, I know that she is a muse (as in being a mother, a friend, etc.).
