Statement: Experiencing art in different moments, in whichever forms (written, spoken, music, performance, etc.) has been cathartic to me, because it has helped me divest my guard. I allow myself to be vulnerable. I am open to new and familiar ideas. Emotions and memories are tugged at because of art, and sometimes it warrants unwelcome feelings and disagreeable ideas. And I think that is okay, too. Art should rouse the minds, the hearts, the souls. Art that sparks any sort of thought, feeling and memory is valuable, because it signifies that I am very much alive! This is a form of catharsis to me.
