Call For Artists
Arroyo Arts Collective’s Exhibiting Opportunities at Avenue 50 Studio
March through December 2018
After completing a successful year partnering with Avenue 50 Studio in Highland Park through our exhibitions at our Blue Wall Alcove, the Arroyo Arts Collective is eager to continue this successful program. We are expanding our call to artists and curators who have not yet joined the Arroyo Arts Collective. Here are the specifics:
Location: Avenue 50 Studio, 131 N. Avenue 50, LA 90042 – three walls in the middle gallery
Space Dimensions: Blue wall: 13′; North wall: 8′; South wall: 6.5′)
Duration: The art will hang for 1 month, including one NELA Art Walk reception
Marketing: Assistance with promotion by AAC and Ave 50
Become A Member: This opportunity is open to AAC members. Dues are $25, and membership is open to all who share our collaborative spirit. To become a member, provide us with your name, street address, email address, phone number and manner of artistic expression. Include a check for $25 made out to The Arroyo Arts Collective. Please mail it to The Arroyo Arts Collective, PO Box 50835, York Station, Highland Park CA 90050.
Proposal Submission Process: We are calling for artists and/or curators. You may exhibit your own work, curate a show of other artists, or show your work together with others, as long as the artists are also AAC members current on their dues. If interested please submit:
- Your full name
- A one to three sentence description of what you plan for the space
- What months in 2018 you are available
- Your contact information including e-mail, phone number and a physical address of your residence or studio
Approval of all proposals rests solely in the discretion of the Board. We are accepting applicants on a first come first served basis, however, preference will be given to artists who have not previously had the opportunity to show in the space.
Fee: $200 for rental of three walls located in the “middle” space of Ave. 50, where the food and drink are served. Payment by cash, credit card or check to Avenue 50 Studio must be paid 30 days prior to installation. You may allocate this fee equitably among other participating artists, but you may not make a profit. You, as the artist/ curator remain responsible for paying the full fee, which is due 30 days before the start date of the show.
All artwork displayed must be for sale and all artwork sold will include a 20% commission to Ave. 50 Studio.
You will be responsible for timely hanging of the show, and timely taking the show down. AAC will assist you with creating the proper labels.
