CALL TO ARTISTS

Avenue 50 Studio is curating an exhibit titled Crossing Boundaries: Engendering LGBTQ Identities to open on Saturday June 10, 2017 in celebration of Pride month across the nation.

We invite submissions exploring the diversity of LGBTQ experiences and identifications that give expression to issues of gender and transgressive sexualities colored by race, politics, geography, culture, ethnicity, and the pluralities of desire.

This curated show builds on the Avenue 50 Studio’s legacy of providing voice to marginalized artists, and is a space for the provocation and negotiation of artistic boundaries.

Performance and spoken word submissions are also welcome to add perspectives to the exhibit.

We look forward to supporting you and to your submissions.

GUIDELINES

Important Dates:

Submissions must be in by 5:00 pm, May 15, 2017.

Notification of inclusion, May 16, 2017.

Opening Reception, June 10, 2017

Conditions of Entry:

· All working California artists

· All mediums considered

· All work must be for sale

· Artwork must be no larger than 36” x 48”

There is no entry fee.

All entries must include: images of your work either through email or website. Artist Statement about your work. Multiple images encouraged. All images must note: Title, size, medium, year, value.

Artists who ship must be aware that they are responsible for shipping costs.

All sales are on a 60%-40% split (60% for artists).
