What: Dia De Los Muertos: Honoring Our Ancestors
When: October 14 – November 4, 2017
We invite you to submit a work of art for consideration for our annual Day of the Dead exhibition. Día de los Muertos dates back 3,000 years, before the Spaniards’ brutal reign of terror was initiated against the indigenous. Day of the Dead was one tradition that could not be wiped out. Día de los Muertos is similar to other societies’ observances of a time to honor the dead. How does your culture honor its fallen heroes, family, friends, pets.
The Avenue 50 Studio invites you to celebrate with us through your chosen medium, and to honor, reflect or make a political statement about current world crises. Whimsy is also appreciated.
Deadline for Submission: Saturday, October 7, 2017.
Requirements:
- Jpgs of your work, no more than 5 jpgs please, or send me to your website.
- Artist statement about the work. We want to understand your story.
- Bio/CV so that we can get to know you.
