Glass Sculptures, Jaime Guerrero

Jaime Guerrero was trained professionally in the art of glass blowing. For the past three years, Jaime has been teaching glassblowing to at-risk youth in South Central Los Angeles. He will be sharing works from his Homies series.

In these works Jaime Guerrero transcends the limitations of the medium of glass. Hand sculpting each piece with his own special tools. Jaime Guerrero makes gains in what he considers a lost art. He is alluding, not only to the art of glass but also to the technical dexterity that is absent n much of today’s institutionalized ideals of art. For him, technical ad intellectual endeavor are inseparable from conceptual content.
