Not in LaLa
Works by Sergio Teran
“La La Land” is defined as the mental state of someone who is not aware of what is really happening and it is also the nickname for Los Angeles California.
The current presidential administration’s hostile attitude and policies towards healthcare, immigration, women, people of color, (just to name a few), has nudged me toward making a series of works that highlights issues of hate-mongering, displacement, white-supremacist violence, identity-oppression and gentrification. This series of work is motivated by the last 10 months of the current presidency and its effects on those around me. We are not in LaLa anymore this shit is real.
