Viva Las Fotos: A Day of the Dead Memorial for Laura Aguilar

Also on display will be Aguilar’s Day of the Dead Coffin series produced twenty eight years ago. The Coffin series, on view for the first time in its entirety is Aguilar’s portrait gallery of Chicanx artists and their friends and family in calavera attire, framed by the backdrop of a coffin taken at the Los Angeles Photography Center’s Day of the Dead celebration in 1990.
